US researchers have developed a device that allows for rapid screening of cholesterol by telephone cameras.

Thanks to the state-of-the-art camera technology, an expert team at Cornell University has created a smartphone accessory that can detect biological markers in blood drops, sweat, or saliva. .
According to the Science Daily, the smart-card device , which stands for "Rapid Diagnosis of Cholesterol in a Smartphone," can be used to read cholesterol for one minute.
After taking sample photos, the pre-installed application on the phone analyzes the color of the specimen and displays the final result on the screen.
The team said the new device would help eliminate the dependence on traditional bulky machines whenever cholesterol is needed.
