Viagra is coming soon for women
Women who have difficulties in orgasm in "sex" may soon get help with a nasal spray.
Scientists at Case Western Reserve University (USA) and Monash (Australia) have partnered with Trimel Pharmaceuticals (Canada) to develop a Viagra drug for women called Tefina.
Tefina with the main component of testosterone is able to enhance sexual desire by stimulating the relevant parts of the brain and increasing the amount of blood circulating to the genital organs. The drug is used as a nasal spray 2 hours before sexual intercourse and will work within 6 hours.
Drugs that help women increase sexual desire is being tested.
Scientists claim that Tefina does not cause side effects such as acne, body hair growth or alter the voice of the user. They also said the drug also causes discomfort if women do not have sex after spraying.
Currently, Tefina is being tested in phase 2 with menopausal women in 4 major cities in Australia. Tests are also being conducted in the US and Canada before the drug is marketed.
'We found Tefina to work as a type of Viagra for women. Instead of going through a long treatment period, this drug can be used when women have a sexual need , ' said Dr. Susan Davis of Monash University, on the Daily Mail.
However, many scientists, such as reproductive expert Ric Gordon think that sexual enhancement drugs for women can be abused for commercial reasons and new methods can mislead the real cause. making women reduce their " sex " desire .
