Scientists have discovered a completely new carnivorous sponge shaped like a harp that lives at depths of more than 3 kilometers below sea level.
At a depth of more than 3km below sea level in Monterey Bay area in the state of California (USA), scientists have discovered a completely new carnivorous sponge shaped like a harp.
With soft and smooth bait catches at the ends of the spawns, harp sponges can catch crustaceans such as shrimp or crabs and then gradually destroy them.
