Video: Machine provides food for athletes
A Japanese company introduced a wearable device for people to supply tomatoes to runners while running.
Tomatan is a machine that is worn on a backpack and powered by electricity. It looks like a small sized robot, weighs 8 kg and fits on a person's shoulder. The lighter version weighs only three kilograms.
According to Kagome, the machine carries six medium-sized tomatoes, supporting athletes in a marathon."Tomatoes contain many nutrients that work against fatigue," Japan Times quoted expert Shigenori Suzuki as saying on February 19.
When used, athletes only need to lift the small lever in the leg unit. The robotic arm will move the tomato from the storage compartment and move it forward.
