The bridge is part of the G65 high-speed road connecting the two cities of Baotou and Maoming . located near Jilin, Hunan, China.

The bridge was started construction in October 2007 and officially went into operation from 3/2012.

Ai Cau Bridge reduces the travel time between the capital of Hunan province of Changsha and the central city of Chongqing from a few days to 8 hours.
