Video: Unusual tsunami hits the coast of Odessa

On June 27, a tsunami taller than 2m suddenly struck the coast of Odessa, 6 injured, of which 4 children (one girl) were taken to hospital for treatment.

Witnesses said that at the time of the tsunami they could hear sounds coming out like explosions.

However, scientists in the port city of Odessa, southern Ukraine, cannot explain the cause of the tsunami higher than 2m, suddenly hitting the coast of the city.

The Itar-Tass news agency quoted the director of the seismic research station at Odessa National Institute of Construction, saying that the center's existing equipment does not record any geological shocks or underground vibrations. .

"It shows that there is some local seismic position, most likely in the Black Sea area. The sea wave runs from north-east to south-west. We can only make conjectures like So, " said Dr. Kontantin Egunov, director of the seismic center.

The scientist said that he could not confirm the element of an underwater explosion or the chasing wave phenomenon .

The local government has established a special committee to investigate the cause of this incident.
