Vietnam won two 4th prizes at the Intel ISEF 2013 finals
The Intel ISEF (International Science and Engineering Fair) International Fair for Science and Technology Fair 2013 takes place in Phoenix (Arizona, USA) from 12 to 17 May.
This year, Vietnam delegation attended the most powerful Intel ISEF since joining since 2009 with 4 teams and 1 individual.
As a result, the Vietnamese delegation won 2 prizes for the topic:
- The system of automatic vegetable and fish farming in the family of the group of 3 students Tran Ngoc Chau, Nguyen Phuong Duy, Truong Nhut Cuong specialized high school Le Hong Phong (HCMC) in the Technical table: Electricity and mechanics.
- Filtering bacteria in the water with egg layer of group of 3 students Do Thuy Linh, Hoang Trong Nam Anh, Vu Mai Huong, Hanoi high school specialized - Amsterdam.
Gordon E. Moore Award is the highest award named Intel founder with a prize of $ 75,000 for male student Ionut Budisteanu, 19, from Romania, with the project using artificial intelligence to create self-driving car with low cost. This is also one of the 17 best prize winners in each table (worth 5,000 USD) and the first prize in Computer Science table.
The next two major prizes were the Young Scientist Award from the Intel Foundation, which was awarded $ 50,000 per prize, and was awarded to two US candidates Eesha Khare (California) and Henry Lin (Louisiana state).

Official prizes for each of the 17 tables include the first prize ($ 3,000), many second prizes ($ 1,500), many third prizes ($ 1,000) and many fourth prizes ($ 500).
In the evening of May 16, Intel ISEF 2013 awarded hundreds of special prizes worth between $ 250 and $ 12,500 of sponsors (scholarships, trainee opportunities, scientific picnics, equipment, .). The total value of prizes and rewards amounted to more than 3 million USD.
The Intel ISEF 2014 finals will take place in May 2014 in Los Angeles (California state).
