Vietnam's bio-oil technology is highly appreciated

After exporting to Laos, the technology of producing bio-oil from the nut of a Vietnamese scientist was successfully applied by Makkao Lao company and achieved high efficiency.

Makkao Laos, a biofuel company, has put the bio-oil plant project from the grain to 10 tons / day. This information was reported by Mr. Bunchan Xaykenyachongtua, the company's deputy general director, on January 17.

This technology was transferred by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Son Lam, of the Institute of Applied Materials Science of Ho Chi Minh City to Teak Wood Company - Luang Prabang (parent company of Makkao Laos) in June 2012. Along with that is the process of making into B5 bio-oil (5% oil from kernels to diesel). The value of the transfer contract at that time was 1 billion VND.

Makkao Laos biofuel company brought B5 oil transferred from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam to the key laboratory of internal combustion engine, National University of Ho Chi Minh City. The test to get the parameters of smoke and fuel consumption to submit to the Lao Ministry of Energy and Mining for permission to sell the trial in Luang Prabang to test the impact on the engine.

Engineer Vo Le Hoai Phuong, test staff said: In addition to the parameters of NOx, HC, CO, the smoke opacity of B5 gasoline decreased compared to commercial diesel. The strange thing is that Laos' B5 oil has high calorific value for diesel.

Prof. Dr. Lam spent 20 years studying bio-oil production technology from a variety of oil-bearing plants. His technology in addition to taking oil, the production process also extracted biological active ingredients as plant protection drugs, biodegradable packaging, fertilizer .
