In the United States, eye infections are especially rapidly developing, since June last year, authorities received 109 reports of this condition in 17 states. Meanwhile, Singapore has also reported fungal infections in the eyes of increasing contact lenses. 39 cases in this category have been discovered since last year to February this year. Malaysia and Hong Kong also reported on some similar cases.

Dr Ben Teller said: "These are fungal or bacterial infections. Most infections that are common in people who wear contact lenses often are caused by bacteria and if we put antibiotics into them. those ulcers do not produce significant results ".

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had to investigate. Although only 30 patients were interviewed, there was an initial conclusion. The US federal medical staff suspected that there was a link between eye infection and Renu glass washing solution produced by Bausch and Lomb.

People with eye infections caused by contact lenses often have symptoms of red eye, watery eyes, glare and decreased vision. If not treated, after at least 2 weeks and at most 3 months, these people will have corneal scarring and temporary blindness. Eight Americans had to replace corneas because of this disease.
