Whale shark 1.5 tons of Chinese fishermen net

The giant whale shark, nearly 5 meters long, happened to be caught in the net of fishermen in Yantai City, Shandong Province, China.

According to QQ, a 4.5-meter whale shark, weighing more than a ton on the beach yesterday, attracted the attention of many residents of Yantai City, Shandong Province.

"When I pulled the net up, I saw a very big fish head in black and blue, with small white dots on my skin," said Mr. Lam, who caught the fish.

He intended to drop it back to the country, but found the fish immobile, lying still in the net, he thought that it was dead, so he brought it to the shore and reported it to the authorities.

Yantai City Environmental Police said whale sharks are nationally protected animals in China, not allowed to trade freely in the market. Mr. Lam hired a excavator to take him to the oceanographic institute for modeling.
