What is your body, what is taken from your father, what is taken from your mother? Here is the answer!
Your intelligence, your height, eye color, and even weight gain. They are all inherited, but from whom?
Folk has the phrase "Girls like father, son like mother". This statement is only partly true, and the truth is not quite so.
Our bodies are actually taken from both parents, with lines blended between both genomes. And each stroke will depend on whether the gene is dominant or dive.
But what is the story from whom, do you know? This is essentially a very important question, because when determining where the dominant gene is, one can find a way to improve the next generation in a better way.
1. Gender
Gene regulates sexuality from her father.
There is an old-fashioned idea that when a wife only gives birth to a daughter, she thinks that the wife is "unable to give birth". But science has proved that genes regulate the sex that is inherited from the father.
The reason is because the egg always carries the chromosome (NST) X , while the sperm has both X and Y. Depending on which chromosomal spermatozoa are received, the child will be male or female.
But not yet. If the father is born in a family of many sons, the likelihood of having a son is also greater. And conversely, if there are many girls, the probability of having a daughter is also higher.
There is one more problem: Y chromosomes actually carry fewer genes than X, so boys are more like mothers. Girls receive X chromosomes from both parents, so the features are shared from both of them.
2. Oral health
The genes of the father's teeth are often superior and the traits are also inherited down to the child.
If the father has weak teeth, must go to the dentist regularly, then the child is also very likely to have dental problems. Because the father's genes are more dominant, and those traits also inherit down to the child.
3. Wisdom
Intellectual decision genes are primarily in the X chromosome. Therefore, if a son is born, intelligence will mainly be inherited from his mother.
Daughters receive X chromosomes from both parents, so they inherit both of their intelligence.
However, this is not so important, because the intelligence received from parents only accounts for 40%. The rest will be absorbed in the development process, learning and working later.
4. Risk of mental illness
This risk comes from the father, more precisely the age. The higher the age, the lower the quality of sperm, and the ability to transmit mutated genes to the child will be higher. This increases the incidence of more psychological illnesses, such as autism, hyperactivity or bipolar disorder.
According to the study published in the journal JAMA Psychiatry, those who make fathers when they are over 45 years old, children have higher suicide rates, and more difficult to acquire knowledge.
5. Risk of obesity
The risk of obesity will be equally divided among the genes of both parents.
Indeed, there are people who are very difficult to lose weight, and this is partly related to genes. The risk will be divided equally for the genes of both parents.
However, in terms of weight, the child is primarily influenced by the mother. If the mother is skinny, small, she will be like that.
6. Height
In terms of height, the father will often influence this more than the mother.
Gene is one of the most important factors determining a person's height - up to 60% -80%. And usually, the father will influence this more than the mother.
Children in the same family may not have the same height. Normally, the youngest child will have a lower height.
7. Eye color
Brown eyes are dominant, especially when it comes from a father.
Brown eyes are dominant, especially when it comes from a father. So if the father has brown eyes, no matter what color the mother has, the child will almost certainly have brown eyes.
8. Curly hair
If both parents have curly hair, their hair is curly.
Curly hair is a dominant gene, but this does not mean that just as a parent has curly hair, so does the child.
Hair trait is defined as follows:
- Both parents have curly hair => their hair is curly.
- Straight haired parents => straight hair
- If a person is curly, a straight person => the child has wavy hair.
- If a parent, brother or sister has curly hair => the child may still have curly hair.
