Wheelchairs have 'legs' crossing obstacles
The Chiba Technology Institute in Tokyo (Japan) has created a new wheelchair that has "legs" to walk through obstacles, such as stairs.
New wheelchair ... "leg"
Wheelchairs that have so far had the disadvantage of being unable to overcome obstacles, such as the ladder, the new wheelchair that the Chiba Technology Institute in Tokyo, is testing has overcome this disadvantage.
The important innovation is that wheelchairs have five axes that rotate like five legs, allowing the wheelchair to move.
The wheelchair can step up the stairs and overcome many different obstacles that the car still stands firmly. Even the car can rotate 360 degrees around a center, automatic processing, momentary gear wheel rotation continuously causing the car to move flexibly.
But this wheelchair is only in experimental form. The inventors are looking for a group of users to try it out and give their ideas for further improvement. For this model to be sold in the market, a long process of testing and improvement is needed.
