Why are women more teary than men?

Due to the biological characteristics and the degree of different impacts of cultural factors, females often tear more than men.

That is the conclusion of researchers at the University of California, San Francisco (USA) after finding that the cell structure in the glands of the sexes has many incompatibilities.

On the other hand, because tear ducts in women are larger than men, if crying at the same time, women's tears will flow faster.

In terms of why men are less cryful than women, according to Louann Brizendine, a psychiatrist, the socio-cultural factor plays an important role in the ability to control tears in each gender.

The biological structure and the different effects of cultural and social factors make women tear more quickly than men.

When suffering physical or mental pain, the 'amygdala' in the brain, where the emotional factors are handled, will signal. If the stimulating force is strong enough, the signal will travel to the cortex of the frontal lobes, causing tears to flow and the breathing rate is more intense, creating the phenomenon of "sobbing" .

'Men are always taught that they should never cry. They tried to disperse their thoughts like grimacing, grinding their teeth or mentally saying something to forget the pain , 'Dr. Brizendine said.

In addition, high testosterone levels act as a brake, stopping the pain signal from entering the cortex.

According to the study, there are 2 types of tears: type 1 has the effect of 'eye wash' , type 2 powder emits when the body responds to emotional irritation or physical pain. Both types contain protein, salt, and hormones, but more protein in type 2.
