Why do mothers often lack breast milk?
Mothers rest unconditionally, breastfeed their babies short, breastfeed incorrectly and reduce the amount of breast milk.
According to a study by the World Health Organization (WHO), every newborn woman can provide enough breastmilk to breastfeed at least during the first six months of life. However, in fact, many mothers find it difficult because there is not enough natural milk source to breastfeed.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Cuc pointed out the three bad habits of pregnant women to reduce the quality and source of breast milk as follows:
The mother gives her a short feeding
Short-term breastfeeding causes excess breast milk. At that time, the body is not stimulated to produce more milk. Gradually, the source of breast milk will be deficient.
The baby is not feeding properly
Lactating on the wrong position makes the baby unable to absorb milk but also causes pain in the mother's chest. This habit causes the mammary gland to receive less stimulation, so there is no regular reflex to produce milk. The feeling of chest pain during breastfeeding makes the mother feel uncomfortable and very afraid to keep the baby up.

Not enough rest
The ability to produce milk after birth depends on whether the pituitary produces more or less prolactin. If a woman does not take enough rest, it will affect the activity of the pituitary gland, the body will be difficult to secrete milk for the baby. Therefore, in addition to early breastfeeding to stimulate the mammary gland, the mother needs to spend a reasonable amount of sleep time to keep the pituitary functioning better.
In order for her mother to always have enough breast milk, Dr. Cuc advised pregnant women to:
Positive breastfeeding
Regular feeding will increase hormone secretion, stimulate the milk gland to be active, produce more milk and not lose milk. Don't ever wait until your baby cries for a new feed, feel free to breastfeed without necessarily having to follow any time. Each time a mother feeds, she should not limit her time, let her breastfeed until she stops herself.
It is best to give the baby an alternate feeding, sucking on the left breast if not full, then turning to the right. If the child is full, use the machine to suck the remaining milk out and store some refrigerators; When your baby is hungry, heat it up and put it in the bottle to feed him. Breastfeeding after the mother can be exchanged for the baby's right breast first. The doctor notes that the mother should not use the pacifier regularly.
Regular chest massage
Massage helps enhance blood circulation to the chest area, thereby increasing the ability to produce milk. It should take about 15 minutes a day to massage the chest area. Note: Women who are raising young children should not wear tight bra.
Proper diet and rest
The mother should not eat very often a very boring dish, but should supplement the nutrients from vegetables, meat, fish . If you have a food allergy, you should avoid those foods. It is recommended to change the menu every day to increase your appetite, to avoid getting sick when you eat one. It also helps stimulate appetite, ensuring the body is provided with adequate nutrients to create a nutritious milk source for children. Besides, you should also add plenty of water, do not use stimulants or alcoholic beverages.
