Why do teenagers do foolish things?
Young people and teenagers who are in their teens like to do crazy things. They use stimulant drugs, have unsafe sex, launch vehicles in drunken state, and pretend to be sleepy when it's time to wash the dishes.

But that doesn't mean they don't know the potential consequences . In fact, a new study shows that puberty spends more time weighing risks than adults and sometimes serious consequences can happen. But the desire to be accepted among peers defeated the consideration process of a young mind.
Researcher Valerie Reyna of Cornell University and Frank Farley at Temple University, USA, synthesized scientific research on this topic.
Compared to adults, teens spend more than 170 milliseconds to consider between being able and losing when doing a risky act . Adults often seldom think about risks, possibly because they think they will realize it intuitively. Meanwhile, young children take a long time to measure the risk and benefit.
"In other words, the more experienced people rely more on their ability to handle situations," Reyna said. As a teenager, it is decided that the benefit of being rewarded with peer-to-peer behavior is greater than its risk.
