Windows Vista will have 8 official versions
According to the announcement from Microsoft website, the company's next-generation Windows operating system - Windows Vista will have 6 official versions and 2 versions exclusively for Europe.
Official Windows Vista versions include: Windows Starter 2007; Windows Vista Enterprise; Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista ultimate, Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Home Basic N and Windows Vista Business N.
The last two versions of Vista (with the "N") will be available to the European region because they are not integrated with Windows Media Player software as the recent mandatory ruling by the EU court in the anti-Microsoft exclusive case.
It is still unclear if the Vista version of Windows Starter 2007 is available, like Windows XP Starter Edition on pricing mechanism. This is a cheap version of Windows with reduced features, only for developing countries.
All new versions of Windows Vista have features that have become familiar with operating systems such as Windows XP Media Center Edition and Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. Entertainment features will still be integrated for free in new operating systems instead of separate.
However, in the above announcement, Microsoft has not mentioned the version of Windows Vista Small Business Edition, mentioned by the company in the past. In addition, there is no information about 64-bit versions of Windows Vista.
Also, according to Microsoft, Windows Vista versions will feature compelling games. Three versions: Vista Business, Home and Enterprise will support mobile connectivity, similar to the capabilities offered for the current 6 versions of Windows XP, including: XP Home, Professional, Media Center, Tablet PC, Professional x64, and Windows XP N.
