Women are good at math like men

In math, female students are "equally talented, equal" to male students without time pressure and competition.

This is the conclusion of a study by math professor Joe Price from Birmingham Young University (UK) and colleagues from Miami University (USA), Rutgers University (USA), done.

Male and female students in 24 elementary schools are divided into 2-person groups to play the math puzzle. The game consists of 5 rounds, each round is a solving problem in 5 minutes. The team noted whether male or female students have the most correct answers after 5 rounds of play.

The results of girls are always as good as or superior to male students. It seems that the longer the game becomes, the shorter the gender gap will be, and the Science Daily quoted Professor Joe Price.

In the game, time elements are not focused. It doesn't matter who finishes the previous problem. Students are always informed by teachers that this is not a competition.

The study, published in the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, also commented by Jessica Purcell from Sloan (USA), who did not participate in the study, saying that when there is no pressure on time and competition Men and women are 'equally talented' in math.
