World's first holographic smartphone

Priced at $ 1,595, the Hydrogen One design doesn't show many features. The manufacturer promises to have finished products this summer.

Last summer, RED camera production company noticed when it announced the first holographic smartphone in the world earlier this year.

Hydrogen One 's breakthrough breakthrough technology is holographic , which can display 3D images without using special glasses.

Last month, Jim Jannard - RED founder - shared more information about Hydrogen One as well as the launch time of this product.

This is a sample design released in July 2017.It can be seen that the design is quite cumbersome compared to other smartphones.

The back part of the machine is made of metal mixture and Kevlar bullet proof for maximum durability. The phone is equipped with a dual camera, with four large screws in four corners, a large ruby logo.

RED says that the basic version of Hydrogen One costs $ 1,195 using an aluminum case, while the more expensive titanium shell version - $ 1,595.

The two sides are designed with a groove line that matches the handle. The right side is the power button, which also has fingerprint scanning, and the private button activates the video recording function.

The left side is a volume button that has a big design. The bottom edge is the USB-C port and the headphone slot.Sound is optimized for both external speakers and headphones.Phone supports 2 SIM.

The front of the Hydrogen One looks no different. The loudspeaker is loudly decorated, the 5.7-inch screen, the edge is quite thick, and of course it cannot compare to the ultra-thin edge of Samsung Galaxy S8 and iPhone X.

In normal mode, Hydrogen One screen has a resolution of 2560x1440, sharper than iPhone X.

The sample version of Hydrogen One is still unable to show holographic features. However, according to Jannard, when turned on to holographic mode, the phone screen will darken slightly, the image is in three-dimensional form without using special glasses.

Jannard calls this '4V resolution' , saying that it is 'better than 3D' but the unknown is better than that.

Holographic is an optional feature. Users can choose Hydrogen One without holographic if desired. Holographic-powered Hydrogen One will have a bigger battery to record and play multi-dimensional content.

This is the Hydrogen One modular camera accessory. The idea is to change the lens and sensor of the smartphone to enhance the image quality to match the type of mirrorless camera. In simple terms, the Hydrogen One can be used for professional photographers.

Hydrogen One does not need to use additional modules for the camera before or after recording 3D images (or 4V according to Jannard's call).

The Hydrogen One camera accessories are not yet active. This accessory makes the smartphone much thicker.

Jannard mentioned a number of social networking partners, implying that users can share holographic videos on these platforms.

Also according to Jannard, the article here on RED forum will guide users to turn and create 4V content.

RED also demonstrates a sample version of Hydrogen One for a number of potential content production partners, saying that it will hold a product launch event in April.

Hydrogen One will be sold through the network this summer. Pre-ordered users will receive the product sooner.

Although the bulky and expensive but if Hydrogen One is indeed a modular device, can create and view 3D content without glasses, this model will attract customers.
