Young farmer Ta Dinh Huy (SN 1982) built an agricultural machine that integrates 12 functions and utilities, receiving more than 1,000 orders throughout the country.

Born and raised in Thuong Vuc commune (Chuong My, Hanoi), after finishing high school, Huy did not take a university exam but decided to learn to repair motorcycles and opened a crowded repair shop. Although the job is stable, Huy always keeps his eyes on the farmers in the hometown of hard labor but low labor productivity.

In 2005, Huy embarked on a research on manufacturing multi-purpose agricultural machines. After studying online, watching the models carefully, going directly to the field to see the people working, Huy came up with ideas, modeled the machine accordingly. Through many failed attempts, he has successfully built a machine with the capacity to make soil, then raised 2 more functions: spraying, pumping water. However, the first machine is still sketchy, bulky, low-efficiency, only works on plain models. In 2010, Huy decided to quit his job of repairing motorbikes while he was eating and making a trip to many provinces to learn about the characteristics of the terrain and labor of farmers.

In 2014, Huy launched an agricultural machine with 8 complete functions that can plow, harrow, cultivate soil, make beds, sow, weed, spray pesticides, pump irrigation water."When I tested it successfully, I broke into happiness, teary tears. The machine supported most of the hard work for farmers , " he said.

Dissatisfied with the successes, Mr. Huy continued to invest, research and upgrade his machine. Recently, he upgraded the device to "12 in 1" . The machine is supplemented with 4 functions: Digging coffee mud, microbiological fertilizer, transplanting rice, moving heavy objects in the garden. Huy said that his improvement was groundbreaking when he could apply all 12 functions to diverse terrain.

"A minute of digging machine for digging coffee mud is 1.5m deep, 40cm deep, 40cm wide, moving heavy objects weighing a few weights in the garden easily. A machine operator can clean 5 grass samples in One morning, spraying 1 ha of pesticide in just 30 minutes, the production cost is less than 20 million VND , " he said.

Mr. Huy said, in the last 3 years, more than 1,000 machines have been produced by farmers all over the country. He received many invitations to produce from the mechanical companies, but declined. About the 12-function machine, he said, he is writing solutions and completing copyright registration documents.
