Scientists found a well in Athens, Greece, with inscriptions called the Prophet Apollo, indicating that the ancient people wanted to borrow fortune-telling to know the future.

The old well was found along with a temple in Kerameikos, in central Athens, to call Apollo god for the future, through the water view to find the message this god sent.

The wall of the well has the words: ΕΛΘΕ ΜΟΙ Ω ΠΑΙΑΝ ΦΕΡΩΝ ΤΟ ΜΑΝΤΕΙΟΝ ΑΛΗΘΕC, temporarily translated as "Let me know the true prophecy of the future of Apollo" . In the area there are 20 inscriptions with the content.

Apart from Kerameikos temple in Athens, Apollo has many other temples. In the temple of Delphi on Mount Paranassus, Greece, Pythia, a young virgin nun, will repeat the prophecies that Apollo revealed.
