$ 1,000 sub-human robot
A Bangladeshi student claims to have built a robot capable of grasping objects, cleaning the floor and performing simple jobs at a cheaper price than other robots.
Feroz Ahmed Siddiky of Chittagong University said that his " IRobo " responded by voice command. It is made of recycled materials collected at electronics stores and auto repair shops.
Once completed, the robot will be able to follow different commands by performing tasks such as lifting objects, cleaning the house and guarding it, " explains Siddiky. It can also be used for dangerous missions, particularly in coal mines, where accidents often occur to workers.
Siddiky has been working on this project for two years and hopes to finish next year. He said he was negotiating the launch of the robot with an Australian company producing software. "I hope people can buy it for less than $ 1,000," he said.
