There is a voice blindness syndrome, and it only accounts for 3% of the population.

More specifically, the survey participants were treated to 100 celebrities, and answered whether their voices were familiar or not. Most think that they will recognize the voices of these people. Next, the candidates will hear 2 recordings: 1 segment of the average person, and the rest of the celebrity.

The test also required them to imagine, asking how easy it was to imagine the voice of a celebrity compared to "lifeless" sounds like car horns, broken glass .

As a result, 76% of participants can correctly guess the celebrity's voice. However, there was 3.2% for the score was too low, and experts said they were incapable of recognizing speech - the symptoms of phonagnosia.

We still know so little about phonagnosia.

Currently, this is one of the first studies on phonagnosia, in other words, we have very little knowledge of this syndrome. Until now, experts have not been able to identify the cause of phonagnosia formation, only one thing is certain that the syndrome may be congenital.

However, the research team believes that this finding could help the public to learn more about a form of disorder, thereby offering effective treatments for more dangerous psychological illnesses.

The study was published in the British Psychology Society magazine.
