  • 1. White dwarfs and other stars can start to rotate around each other. If a white dwarf sucks too much material from the star, the explosion occurs.
  • 2. When two white dwarfs approach too close, they will collide, leading to an explosion.
  • 3. Super giant stars die when their cores become too large, using up nuclear fuel. Gravity caused it to collapse, creating a giant explosion.
  • 4. Scientists think there is a rarer way such as bright stars that evolve rapidly, spewing out dust and gas, eventually exploding.
