5 ancient cities were discovered after thousands of years missing

Archaeologists found many settlements of ancient people thousands of years ago thanks to the help of advanced technology.

According to the International Business Times, only in 2016, scientists found many ancient areas buried for thousands of years, from the city network around Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia to the commercial center submerged under Tanzania coast and a mysterious city in Honduras.

Rhapta City, Tanzania

In 1939, the explorer Theodore Morder announced the discovery of the White City, but he refused to reveal its exact location, fearing the ruins were looted.

In 2016, archaeologists at the Honduras Institute of Anthropology and Colorado State University, began excavating the area believed to be the White City. They discovered many stone sculptures and artifacts such as bottles and bowls dating from 1000 to 1500. However, the civilization of people living in the White City so far remains a mystery. hidden.

Angkor Wat, Cambodia

In 2013, Turkish builders in the urban renovation project happened to encounter a large underground city with a capacity of about 20,000 people in the historic Cappadocia area, central Anatolia. The system of tunnels and rooms dates back to 3000 BC.

City of Thonis-Heracleion, Egypt

In 2000, Franck Goddio, a French archaeologist, and a research team at the European Underwater Archeology found traces of Thonis-Heracleion after a geophysical survey for four years.
