Ancient tombs of thousands of years carry the form of 'dead boat'

A construction in Sweden unknowingly revealed two strange ancient tombs: the thousand-year-old remains slept in small boats with many relics.

2 strange tombs identified by the legendary Vikings were unknowingly discovered during the process of renovating a plot of land to expand the church in the village of Gamla Uppsala (Sweden).

Unlike the common graves, the dead are not in the coffin but are in 2 . boats. One of the two intact graves helped archaeologists identify it as a male remains, lying on the stern. There is also a horse and a dog in the boat, believed to be petrified pets.

In the "dead boats" there are many other objects including a sword, a spear, a shield and an ornate comb. The way to bury by boat and the precious objects buried by it shows that the deceased has a high status in society.

According to archaeologists, there were about ten similar ancient tombs found in Sweden. All of these ancient tombs date back to the Viking period (around 800-1050 AD).

The boats in the ancient tombs are all real boats, which are technically and properly sized as Viking boats used in life. Wooden boat and built with iron studs.

The second grave was badly damaged, larger and could have up to 2 remains buried together.

According to archaeologist Anton Seiler from Arkeologerna (member unit of the Swedish History Museum), this is a unique discovery. The last time archaeologists discovered the same "boat tomb" was 50 years ago.
