Picture inside the ancient tomb of Maya

According to National Geographic , discovered in 1999 inside a pyramid, this tomb is among the remaining ruins of the ancient Mayan city of Palenque, located in the hills of Chiapas, southern Mexico.

The intact red burial chamber is revealed for the first time after 1,500, revealing the history of an ancient city.

The tomb is said to hold the remains of K'uk 'Bahlam I, the first founder of the ancient Palenque citadel.

A modern roof was erected to protect the tomb, 5 meters deep beneath the mouth of the hole at the top of the tower.
