51 countries join hands for water

Vietnam is one of the countries lacking water due to lack of reasonable measures to regulate the flow and waste water exploitation and use.

From March 20-22, ASEM City took place the " ASEM for water cooperation" conference on the World Water Day March 22. Annual activities of 51 countries in the Asia-Europe cooperation forum (ASEM) are aimed at calling the attention of the world community on the importance of water resources.

With the message "If we all share, everyone has the opportunity to use water" , the seminar addresses issues such as the importance and challenges of cooperation for the country as a benefit of co-ordination. this work.

According to Mr. Chau Tran Vinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Water Resources Management, Vietnam is in a state of scarcity and water pollution. The International Water Resources Association (IWRA) identifies Vietnam as a country with a shortage of water due to lack of effective measures to develop water resources, to properly regulate the flow in the river basin.

"The wasteful exploitation and use of water together with hydropower, irrigation and deforestation projects, climate change . have changed water sources, water quality, causing scarcity, freshwater degradation , " Vinh added.
