The marine environment of Nha Trang Bay is facing negative impacts mainly from human activities, so it is necessary to join hands to contribute to the protection of natural resources and the marine environment.

Nha Trang Bay currently has more than 350 species of reef-forming corals and 40 new species recorded, 222 species of coral reef fish, 120 mollusks species, 70 crustacean species, 248 seaweed species . This is a sea area with diversity Biology is high compared to other coastal areas in Vietnam.

However, at present, this sea-bay environment is suffering many negative impacts, so it is necessary to join hands and contribute to the whole society to protect the resources and environment here.

In the past 10 years, the Management Board of Nha Trang Bay Marine Protected Area has implemented and completed four components of the project to build and strengthen marine protected areas; combining many activities of patrolling, protecting landscape and environment; propaganda and education to raise awareness; renew aquatic resources, support livelihoods for people .

Thus, the Management Board of Nha Trang Bay MPA has completed its tasks and achieved many high results, such as protection and development of biodiversity and coral reef coverage; improving people's lives, raising environmental awareness; developing mangrove ecosystems, many seagrasses have signs of recovery .

At the workshop, many scientists of Nha Trang Institute of Oceanography pointed out the fluctuation of biodiversity and threats to Nha Trang Bay ecosystem such as the loss of coral reef area due to the process. constructing sea encroachment, the explosion of starfish species, depleting creature resources, catching aquatic products with explosives, poisons .

Khanh Hoa Department of Natural Resources and Environment assesses the marine environment in Nha Trang Bay is facing complex and difficult to control challenges, in which negative impacts are mainly due to subjective causes from children's activities. people.

Therefore, all efforts to protect the natural resources and marine environment of Nha Trang Bay must first be rooted in the awareness, need to join hands of people in society.

The delegates agreed, proposed some solutions to protect the environment and biodiversity here such as: enhancing the role of the community in the management and rational exploitation of biological resources on coral reefs. , creating new destinations for tourism activities, communication to raise awareness, monitoring and evaluating management effectiveness in order to identify and enforce adaptive management, proactively prevent environmental incidents .
