Nha Trang: organize sea turtle protection activities
On World Environment Day (5-6) and respond to the International Year of Sea Turtle, in Nha Trang City, International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Ministry of Fisheries, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, Institute Hai Oceanography and Nha Trang MPA Management Board organized sea turtle protection activities, with the participation of numerous officials, youth and students.
The reason IUCN chooses Khanh Hoa is the place where this activity is organized, because the waters of Vietnam, especially Nha Trang have many rare and precious sea turtles such as: turtles, leather turtles, gonads, turtles . tourists. Favorite calendar.
At the same time, Vietnam is one of the countries that have had the Sea Turtle Conservation Action Plan since 2004. This plan is aimed at addressing the objectives: reducing the cause of death for marine turtles; manage their spawning grounds and hatcheries; Research and protection and management of marine turtle habitat .
In celebration of the World Environment Day and in response to this year's International Year of Sea turtles, youths in Nha Trang City joined the cleaning of the beach, contributing to returning a healthy living environment to Sea turtles, visit the marine biology museum at Nha Trang Institute of Oceanography to learn about aquatic species.
At the end of the Ceremony, the students dropped many tagged sea turtles into the sea.
