A series of mysterious green turtles died in Australia

Scientists are confused by the phenomenon of more than 70 green turtles (scientific name Chelonia mydas) dying on the beaches in northeast Australia in the past week, the ABC site reported.

The local government of Queensland, Australia confirmed there were 62 dead green turtles and 10 others found dead floating on the surface by helicopter.

Marty McLaughlin from the Queensland Department of Environment said tests and tests for green turtles were carried out but showed that they died not from disease.
