Binh Dinh: Rare and precious sea turtles lay eggs on the shore

The People's Committee of Nhon Hai Commune, Quy Nhon City (Binh Dinh) said a sea turtle - also known as a green turtle, a precious marine species named in the Red Book, has just arrived at the beach area of ​​Khe Sanh in this locality. to lay eggs.

This turtle is 1.2m long, 0.85m wide, has spawned more than 150 eggs. Earlier, also in this beach area, another sea turtle spawned more than 120 eggs.

Binh Dinh Department of Exploitation - Protection of Aquatic Resources cooperated with Nhon Hai commune authorities to establish the first group of volunteers to protect sea turtles, to contribute to preventing the danger of extinction of precious marine species. this.

This is a part of the project of marine turtle conservation chaired by Binh Dinh Department of Aquatic Resources Protection and Protection. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has also organized training courses for fishermen of six coastal communes of Phu Cat and Phu My districts (Binh Dinh) on marine turtle conservation, protection and rescue activities.

The waters of Binh Dinh are home to many sea turtles. They often go ashore laying eggs at beaches in Phu Cat and Phu My districts; In Nhon Hai commune alone, there are three turtle beaches that regularly spawn.
