This series of photos was taken during Prince Thuan's patrol trip.

In 1886, Prince Chun Yi Huan, under the orders of Empress Dowager Cixi, patrolled the Beiyang Fleet, one of the four modern fleets of the Chinese navy during the late Qing Dynasty.

While passing by Haiguang Temple in Tianjin, Prince Chun Yihuan took a photo with the then Governor of Zhili, Minister Li Hongzhang and Commander-in-Chief Thien Khanh.

The photo shows Prince Chun Yi Huan (middle), minister Li Hongzhang (right) and Commander Thien Khanh (left). All three have solemn expressions.

Prince Chun Yi Huan was the imperial son of Emperor Daoguang, the biological father of Emperor Guangxu, and the grandfather of Emperor Xuantong (Puyi).

District Chief of Hien District (Truc Li) Ngo Dao. From 1890, Ngo Dao began to hold the position of District Chief in Cao Ap, Thanh Uyen, Hinh Dai and many other districts. It was not until 1900 that he began to hold the position of District Chief of Hien District (Truc Li).

Admiral Dinh Nhu Xuong.

In 1888, Dinh Nhu Xuong was appointed as Admiral of the Beiyang Fleet. He made important contributions to the construction of the Qing navy.

In 1895, under the command of Ding Ruchang, the Beiyang fleet was defeated, and Ding Ruchang committed suicide.

Zhang Yao, Governor of Shandong. Zhang Yao began serving as Governor of Shandong in 1886. In 1891, he fell seriously ill while on duty and died shortly thereafter.

The photo of civil officials was taken in 1886. The first person in the second row from the left is the Tianjin Governor, Wang Shouzheng; the second person in the third row from the left is Zhou Fu. The rest were only alternate officials, with no actual positions.
