Acer sold the PC with a security error
Security firm F-Secure has said that some of Acer's computers have been sold in the market recently, containing an ActiveX control that has failed, but currently has no official version.
Most new PCs come to consumers without the latest security upgrade. Therefore, the first job when a user purchases a computer is to connect to the Internet to download updates to the system and applications.
However, it is worth mentioning here that the ActiveX driver bundled with Acer computer products is vulnerable and there is no corresponding upgrade. This vulnerability could allow an attacker to take control of a computer after tricking users into accessing a malicious website.
Specifically, the vulnerability is in the ActiveX library named " LunchApp.ocx ", which was discovered by security experts in late November 2006.
Currently, representatives of Acer still have no comment on the information, and it is not clear how much the company sold to the market how many PCs have ActiveX control errors.
