Add a security error Quicktime
Simultaneously with the introduction of a series of products at MacWorld, Apple also warned of a serious security bug in the Quicktimes.
The security error lies in Quicktimes' media files player, running on both Windows and Mac OS versions. Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple, said attackers could take advantage of the bug by tricking users into opening a malicious code file, and then taking control of the computer.
Apple released QuickTime 7.0.4 to stop this error. This error was assessed by French Security Incident Response Team as the most dangerous.
However, Apple still does not evaluate the danger level of this error is high. They still recommend users, never open a media file in an untrusted source, because it most likely will lead you to a hacker. This type of error has also appeared in iTune and QuickTime and was most recently discovered in November and December 2005.
