Add an in vitro fertilization center

Recently, in February 2008, the Ministry of Health decided to recognize IVF Van Hanh unit, under Van Hanh General Hospital, to be eligible for reproductive support techniques. This is the fourth address of rare infertility examination and treatment in Ho Chi Minh City.

The decision of the Ministry of Health is based on the results of IVF Van Hanh unit's medical examination and treatment activities from July 2007 up to now.

Picture 1 of Add an in vitro fertilization center Until February 2008, IVF Van Hanh unit received medical examination and treatment for over 300 couples, fully implemented the Assisted Reproductive techniques from uterine sperm pumping (IUI) to fertilization. in vitro like IVF, ICSI, PESA - ICSI (see glossary in the box below the message).

Particularly in 2007, IVF Van Hanh unit had 95 patients who were in vitro fertilization (TTTON) and pregnancy rate was 38.8%. This is a relatively high success rate compared to the centers in Vietnam and the world. So far, IVF Van Hanh has had more than 50 pregnancies from TTTON. The first baby in IVT of this unit is expected to be born in April 2008.

The cost of infertility treatment with current IVF technology in Van Hanh is 11 million VND, ICSI: 14 million VND, PESA - ICSI: 17 million VND.

This is the fourth inferior examination and treatment address in Ho Chi Minh City (after Tu Du Hospital, Hung Vuong Hospital, International Obstetrics Hospital). Currently, the demand for medical examination and treatment and infertility of people is increasing. Infertility treatment centers in HCMC are in overload. People in need often have to wait and take a long time to be examined and treated.

ICSI is currently used the most

Intrauterine insemination (IUI): In vitro fertilization, called artificial insemination in the uterus.

IVF (In vitro fertilization): In vitro fertilization with normal sperm count.

ICSI (Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection) is often read as si-si.This is an acronym from the English term for the technique of injecting sperm into the corresponding cells (eggs). In the case of sperm of poor quality or in small quantities, use this method. This is a sophisticated technique to help fertilize eggs and sperm.

The nature of ICSI is a technique that supports fertilization between eggs and sperm. The steps for implementing ICSI are similar to that of a normal in vitro fertilization. The wife will be scheduled for an injection of ovarian stimulation and ultrasound monitoring and endocrine testing.By the time the eggs mature, the wife will be scheduled to go to the hospital to poke eggs.On the same day, the husband will also go to the hospital to get sperm. The sperm of the husband is then treated with some special techniques, to select the best few sperm.Wife eggs are also treated differently from conventional TTTON to prepare sperm injection.

The technique of injecting sperm into the corresponding cells is usually done 4-6 hours after sucking the eggs.Due to the very small size of eggs and sperm, ICSI must be performed under a magnifying microscope several hundred times. This technique requires the skill of manipulating the members to perform, otherwise the eggs will die and no fertilization.Eggs after fertilization will be cultured into embryos.About 2 days later, the wife will be scheduled to go to the hospital for the doctors to transfer embryos into the uterus. Thus ICSI is only different from IVT in some laboratory techniques; For TTTON, about 100,000 sperm will be implanted with 1 egg, then 1 sperm will go into the egg itself.

Currently this method is most used due to high success rate.

PESA - ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection): If you make sperm without sperm (due to blockage), this method will be used: to suck sperm in the testicle, then manipulate as ICSI.
