Adding the call to change the name of 'God's seed'

One of the physicists who published the theory of the "seed of the Lord" suggested that the scientific community should call it a new name.

On Wednesday, the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) announced that its scientists had found a new type of particle with the characteristic Higgs particle, which generates mass for matter in the universe.

Previously, the Higgs was named in honor of Professor Peter Higgs, who first published the hypothesis of its existence in 1964. However, the Higgs was only one of six hypotheses. that. Even Robert Brout and Francois Englert, two experts at the University of Freiburg in Belgium, have published the Higgs theory for two months.

In November 1964, three theoretical physicists published the mysterious particle theory in the Standard Model. There are two American scientists, Carl Hagen and Gerry Guralnik, and British physicist Tom Kibble.

Professor of physics Carl Hagen believes that the Higgs should bear a different name and that it must honor all those who have proposed the hypothesis of its existence, the BBC reported.

"I always thought that the name was not a valid name, and using the name of a person to name the particle meant we ignored the contributions of others, even though I was not the one calling for a name change. it, but I still applaud the call, " Hagen commented.

The scientific community often refers to Francois Englert, Peter Higgs, Gerald Guralnik, Tom Kibble, Robert Brout and Carl Hagen whenever they think of the Higgs. At a press conference hosted by CERN in July last year to announce "what could be the Lord's Grave" , five physicists still alive, out of six, told the press, hand for Professor Higgs.

A CERN spokesman said the organization had no right to determine the names of the new districts.

"We often call new particles by the names of those who hypothesize them, and in all cases they have become commonplace and accepted by the physical community , " the spokesman said. .

At a physics conference in March to discuss the Higgs particle, researchers proposed the idea of calling it "SM Scalar Boson".

Higgs earlier also urged people not to call the Higgs "the seed of God" because it does not reflect the nature of the beast, and also because he is an atheist.
