The advent of so-called "air pens" is seen as an omen for the keyboard's accusation, and technology pens.
The system invented by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany) works by monitoring the position of the user's hand in space, allowing the compilation of messages and e-mails by being airborne.
New breakthrough in text entry techniques
"This glove is used to write letters on the air, like writing on an invisible board," said researcher Christoph Amma, author of the study.
The page Phys.Org quoted Amma expert as saying that the new technology will gradually be "woven" directly into clothing, for people to use wherever they are.
The sensors mounted on the gloves will record the hand movement at the user, then a computer system captures meaningful signals and translates them into text.
The sensor can also distinguish what is written, what is movement in everyday life, such as cooking, washing clothes, waving to someone, according to expert Amma.
The system can recognize complete sentences in capital letters, with vocabulary up to 8,000 words. The error rate is about 11%, but it can be reduced to 3%.
Amma has received a $ 81,000 research award from Google, and thus has the right to hope that the air pen can be used with Google Glass wearable devices.
