American ancestors are Siberians

The first people to explore America were most likely residents of the cold Siberia.

The work of Russian-American scientists has just published in the American Journal of Human Genetics, showing that the closest genetic ancestor of American aborigines comes from a land of Siberia, today is Communist Altai Republic of Russia. According to University of Pennsylvania, Altai anthropology professor of anthropology Theodore Schurr bordering Mongolia, China and Kazakhstan, it has long been considered an important link in the migration of many communities from dozens thousand years. Also from this land, ancient 'explorers' have crossed the Bering Strait (then still the mainland because the earth is still in the ice age, water is frozen on a large scale) to set foot in the South. America from 20,000 to 25,000 years ago.

From Siberia, the Altai people crossed the Bering Strait to become the first inhabitants of the Americas

The team analyzed Y chromosome DNA (transmitted only from father to son) of Native Americans and native residents of southern Altai and discovered a mutation of the gene found only in these two groups. A similar experiment on the genes of mitochondria (transmitted only by the mother-daughter line) also showed that Americans and Altai people are similar at some very specific genetic point. In addition, scientists have calculated the time for these mutations to appear and estimate the Altai genetic information began to separate from the Americas from 13,000 to 14,000 years ago. This is quite consistent with previous scientific documents that identified the first migration from Siberia to America about 15,000 - 20,000 years ago.

The specific determination of Altai is the 'genetic cradle' of the Americas is an important step in anthropology. The reason is that the Bering Strait is considered the main 'bridge' to the Americas tens of thousands of years ago, so over time, there are quite a number of population groups who have chosen this path. Many other research groups were unable to find the exact origin of the American ancestors in the vast Eurasian continent.
