The communication device used for the US military on Android will be used in the "Joint Battle Command-Platform, JBC-P" system and denoted by JBC-P Handheld. According to some tech news sites like Wired, Cnet, it's a smartphone.

With this device, American soldiers can identify on their map the location, the position of the enemy and the structures, objects, other components in the tactical situation, and this information is also immediately available. provided to other combat participating units.

For device manufacturing, there is a special software platform, called Mobile / Handheld Computing Environment (CE), which ensures safety for applications and interactions with other control and command systems. Since July 2011, a set of Mobile / Handheld CE development tools will be available to outside developers.

In basic applications for devices with military software, the usual address book and OpenOffice office application package for document viewing.
