Ancient rice has been a problem

Four rice plants sown from the "3,000-year rice seeds" excavated in Thanh Den (Me Linh, Hanoi) have been done. Meanwhile, the rice husk of ancient rice is still being dated by AMS method in Japan.

According to Mr. Le Duy Ham, Director of Agricultural Genetics (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), four rice plants sown from unearthed grains in the relics of Den Den have been done for a few days. These are grains of grain obtained from the Dong Dau culture, 3,000 years ago and sown on May 5.

Meanwhile, 6 other ancient rice plants sown a week later and both modern rice plants of Vietnam and India have not seen control phenomenon.

Director of Ham said, it is likely that these rice varieties belong to short-term rice varieties. However, to identify a rice variety, scientists will have to wait for the results of the dating of grain by the AMS method. In addition, scientists will continue to take care of the seeding process to evaluate through morphology.

Meanwhile, according to Dr. Lam Thi My Dung, who directly excavated at Thanh Den relic site, the dating of the AMS method in Japan is still underway. According to her, the earliest results are as early as the end of July or early August.
