Announcing the new worm frog
Vietnamese scientists and the world have just announced a new worm frog in the forest in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park.

On December 30, Mr. Dinh Huy Tri, deputy director of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park (Quang Binh), said that.
This species has the scientific name Ichthyophis chaloensis sp.nov belongs to the family of frogs (Ichthyophiidae), the footless (Gymnophiona) and is currently only described based on the unique sample.
This species lives under the vegetation along the rocky stream, in the secondary forest area, discovered by experts from the Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources and Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park since 2011 in the area. Cha Lo village forest (Hoa Son commune, Minh Hoa district) of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, now officially announced as a new species.
So far, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park has 51 amphibian species.
