Asteroids pass by 192,000km from the Earth

The 2018 GE3 asteroid approached Earth just less than a day after it was discovered.

The 2018 GE3 asteroid rushes with a distance of about half the average distance between Earth and Moon on April 15, according to NASA's Near-Earth Research Center (CNEOS). NASA estimates this asteroid is 48-110m in diameter, Space reported.

Scientists have not discovered this meteorite before it enters the atmosphere.

2018 GE3 is about six times the size of meteorites crossing the sky of Chelyabinsk, Russia, causing more than 1,200 people injured and thousands of houses damaged in February 2013. Scientists have not discovered this meteorite before it enters the atmosphere.

If crashed into Earth, 2018 GE3 will cause damage in the area, not the globe, and will probably burn in the atmosphere without touching the ground, according to Space Weather. However, 2018 GE3 shows that large meteorites can still suddenly approach Earth.

Astronomers from NASA's Catalina Sky Survey program discovered the asteroid for the first time on April 14. Only 21 hours later, it flew close to Earth.
