Astronaut explores 'Mars' on ... Earth
A group of scientists came to live and work in the desert in Utah (USA) - where there are similarities with Mars, to study the possibility of human survival when set foot on the Red Planet.
The Mars Desert Research Station project (MDRS) used the American desert in Utah as a simulated environment to study human survival in extreme conditions, in preparation for missions people on the Red Planet in the future.
Crew crews of 6 scientists who specialize in geology, biology, machinery, . will rotate each time from 2 weeks to 1 month to live and work at Mars Mars Research Station in the desert in Utah.
During this time, they will perform astronauts' tasks when setting foot on the red planet in the future, such as taking soil samples from the Martian surface and bringing them to the MDRS station, conducting experiments Living science and studying the terrain and geology of the red planet.
When exploring outdoors, scientists must wear costumes for cosmonauts and bring oxygen tanks. After completing the outdoor missions, they will return to MDRS station. Here, they have to live in a small space with very limited water, electricity, food and oxygen.
