The project called Planet Cash will be implemented with at least 1,730 ATMs in Poland this year. This technology has been tested in a number of banks and is now widely deployed to the public in Poland. However, Hitachi has no plans to deploy this biometric technology to other countries.

This technology works by combining CCD cameras and near-infrared light. When a finger is placed in the scanner, near-infrared light is absorbed by the hemoglobin in the veins and records of the finger vein pattern. This model is unique to each person. The next will be compared with the pre-registration profile to verify personal identity. Jaroslaw Chrzanowski, Managing Director of Itcard SA, said that this is a revolution in the ATM market in Europe, while increasing security and convenience for customers.

Intravenous biopsy has also been used in many other countries. For example, in April, buyers in Sweden registered to make payments by identifying their hands. This is a technology students think of in 2012, so far installed in 15 stores and restaurants in the city of Lund, southern Sweden to help customers reduce the waiting time to pay.
