Automated parking by mobile application
Volvo Motor has announced new technology that allows parking only by using the mobile application.
The 'automatic parking' technology is a combination of sensor and camera with a system that activates the steering, brakes and other controls to guide the car into space.
"Automated parking is a technology concept that can make the driver feel secure about the time it takes to find the space to park," said Thomas Broberg, a safety consultant for Volvo Cars. . The driver only needs to drop the vehicle at the beginning of the road into the parking lot and then receive the vehicle at the same location. '
The system is based on 'Vehicle Structure Technology 2 ' - the generator on the road infrastructure - to find free space. The system can also detect pedestrians and other cars for a 'rhythmic combination of parked parking'.
Volvo said the technology could be applied to the new XC90 that will be available by the end of 2014.
