Balloons-like creature attacks the English coast

Portuguese Man of War, a highly toxic creature, can be deadly on the English coasts.

The British Marine Conservation Society (MCS) announces a large amount of Portuguese Man of War, a poisonous and jellyfish-like creature that has just landed on the coast of England's Cornwall and Scilly Islands, The Sun on 22nd. 9 reports.

Portuguese Man of War (scientific name: Physalia physalis) is not a single species, but a population of many small individuals called hydrographs . Their tendencies carry high toxins, which can cause severe pain, even death.

Delia Webb, a volunteer of the environmental protection group Friends of Portheras, found the creature lying in the middle of the plastic while cleaning the beach in Portheras Cove, Cornwall.

"They're beautiful with pink and blue streaks. Luckily we know about the danger behind that beauty so don't touch it. Then we report back to MCS , " Delia said.

MCS on September 22 issued a warning not to touch the Portuguese Man of War after receiving information about their appearance.

"Over the past few weeks, we have received a lot of announcements about Portuguese Man of War hitting the coasts around Cornwall and the islands Scilly. For the kids, a stranded Portuguese Man of War looks like a flying balloon. If you intend to go to Cornish Sea this week, make sure you can identify and not touch them, " said Dr. Peter Richardson, British Marine Animal Conservation Association, warning.
