Bathtubs kill more people than traffic accidents

The number of deaths in bathtubs in Japan amounted to 14,000 per year, more than three times the number of deaths from road accidents.

The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare decided to investigate deaths in the bathroom after statistics showed that the bath was a rather dangerous place in the Japanese home, Mainichi said.
