The letter of denunciation made the police force bewildered because no one could believe the Monnier noble lady could do such a terrible thing. From past to present, Ms. Louise has always been a respected person in Paris, she is an aristocracy and has been awarded many awards for her tireless contribution to the community.

The police team sent to inspect Monnier's house has been chased away by their families. However, the police officers were fierce, pushing the door into the house with force. They scoured the house and found a tiny room smelling horribly on the second floor. When the door opened, the police almost vomited from the intense smell of air coming from the damp and dark rooms. In the tiny dark room without a window, Blanche had no contact with anyone but his mother, brother and maid who occasionally came to throw her some leftovers. Blanche could not even wear clothes, did not bathe. They imprisoned Blanche and demanded that she give up her love before being released, but until 1885, her lover died, Blanche continued to be imprisoned in a dungeon.

For more than two decades, the poor daughter who lies only in one place, eating, sleeping or going to the toilet is also in bed. The dark earthly hell didn't need any more violence to turn a beautiful flower that once became exhausted both physically and mentally. Gradually Blanche became a madman. When rescued and taken to the hospital, Blanche weighed only 24 kilograms, almost unable to speak and was very scared of the sun - which she had not seen for 25 years.

Blanche's story covered the newspaper as well as being the subject of many books and documentaries.

The testimony of Ms. Louise and her son to the police said that Blanche was mad, mentally unstable, so he often screamed angrily. However, when the police contacted Blanche, they found her quite calm, and even seemed to be happy to take a bath.

Ms. Louise after being arrested, had a heart attack 15 days later and died. Some people say that she died because she felt so guilty and regretted by the terrible things she caused to her daughter. In the book The Sequestered Woman of Poitiers: An Unprecedented Affair writes about Blanche's life that states that her mother came before she changed her will, leaving the entire estate to her inherited daughter.

About Blanche's brother's part after being brought to trial, he received a sentence of 15 months in prison. He later appealed on the pretext that his mother was a family ruler and he tried his best to help his sister but failed, nor did he commit any violence against his sister. After a period of treatment in the hospital, Blanche gradually recovered, regained some weight and could say a few words. However, mental injuries for many years made Blanche never able to become a normal person again. She was brought to live at the sanatorium in Bois and spent 12 peaceful years before leaving her life in 1913.
