Beijing alarms on air pollution

Air pollution in the capital, Beijing, China, was first classified as the yellow alarm group, the second highest level in the 4-step pollution warning system.

The yellow alarm is the second highest, after the red alert, in a scale of warning of air pollution and dense dust in Chinese cities. Reuters said that with this level of warning, schools must cancel outdoor classes, a number of schools will be required to close and facilities will have to restrict travel.

Pollution in the capital of Beijing is raised to a new level of alarm after a wave of criticism from the media and the Internet that the Beijing government cannot prevent high levels of pollution.

Mist and white smoke cover Beijing's capital from the afternoon of February 21 and is expected to continue for the next 3 days. According to US Environmental Protection Agency data, the concentration of PM 2.5 particles in the air at 300 will be considered very dangerous. Meanwhile, the PM 2.5 concentration recorded here last week was up to 500.

With the gold alert, Beijing is required to take effective measures to limit and improve air pollution. According to Xinhua, factories around the capital will be tested for air emissions and the authorities will impose fines if violations of the emissions regulations are found.

Chinese authorities have issued many regulations, policies and investment in many projects, and have given strict forms to limit pollution. However, the implementation of these measures is largely counterintuitive.
