Biological chips detect cancer early
On June 6, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology agreed to provide IC Design Research and Training Center (ICDREC), in collaboration with Associate Prof. Dr. Ho Huynh Thuy Duong, Department of Biology, University of Science Natural Ho Chi Minh City cooperates to research and develop biological chips for health care.
The requirement is that chips must be easy to use and quickly detect diseases to better serve the health sector, especially in remote areas. After the design, the chip will be built at the Research and Development Center (HCM City Hi-tech Park) and put the application at the hospital.

In the immediate future, the team will create chips that can detect cervical cancer early; prostate cancer; To determine toxicity in meningococcal disease and detect viral toxicity in cell culture.
It is expected that the commercial price of chips will be only 1/3 of the foreign products of the same type. Time to implement the research topic, manufacturing biological chips is 3 years. The total budget for the project is about VND 23 billion, of which the Department of Planning and Investment of HCMC grants VND 15 billion, the rest is contributed by businesses.
This is a chip that was developed following biological chips using quartz crystals and was successfully coordinated by ICDREC and Research and Development Center in 2010.
